The Wildwoods Convention Center opened its doors to a new competition last weekend — baton twirling.Approximately 85 competitors, as young as 3 years old through advanced levels, took to the floor to show off a variety of skills such as finger rolls, body spins and aerials — some of which could easily be missed with a blink of an eye.The 2022 All East Championships, directed by Cynthia Hurley DeFazio and Brian Demary Echandia, were held in conjunction with the National Baton Twirling Association (NBTA) New Jersey State Individual and Team Championships as well as the New Jersey Miss Majorette Pageant.
